Product Description A Sediment Water Filter removes physical debris and impurities from your water. The filter has tiny holes that allow water to pass through, while trapping unwanted particles. As these particles come in different sizes, the filter size is measured in microns - the smaller the micron rating, the smaller the holes and the finer the filtration.

Generally, for visibly polluted water with larger particles, a sediment filter with a larger micron size (e.g., 20 or 50 microns) is recommended as the first stage to prevent clogging of subsequent filters. This sediment filter is often the first installed in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine particles.
