Discard the used filter cartridge, wash the housing with dish soap and warm water, and rinse thoroughly. 4. Fill the housing with water, add about 1 tablespoon of bleach, and scrub to disinfect. Rinse thoroughly. 5. Lubricate the o-ring with clean silicone grease and insert it into the groove, ensuring it is seated level. 6. Insert the new filter cartridge. 7. Screw the housing back onto the cap and hand-tighten, making sure the cap standpipe slips into the cartridge. 8. Turn on the water supply, press the pressure-relief button (if present), and check for leaks.
