Product Description: Melt-blown Four Layers Filtration Polypropylene Sediment Filter (50 pack)

A Sediment Water Filter removes physical debris and impurities from your water. The sediment filter has tiny holes through which water can pass, while unwanted particles are retained. As these particles come in different sizes, the filters are also available in varying micron ratings - the smaller the micron measurement, the smaller the holes in the filter, allowing it to capture the smallest of particles. Generally, for water that is more visibly polluted and contains larger particles, a sediment filter of a larger size (such as 20 or 50 microns) is recommended in the first stage of installation to prevent clogging of subsequent filter stages.

This sediment filter is often the first filter installed in a Reverse Osmosis circuit, acting as a net to catch unwanted particles, including sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine particles. Sediment filters are made of fine melted polypropylene, which is then blown and spun into a cylinder-like form. Polypropylene is a substance resistant to chemical solvents, bases, and acids. Removal of these particles allows filters, such as Carbon Block or GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filters, to perform better and for longer periods of time.

These Sediment Water Filters are designed to intercept a variety of impurities, including rust, corrosion, coarse sand, fine sand, and other particles. They feature a multi-layer gradient filtration system with an outer, mid, inner, and innermost zone to capture contaminants of different sizes.

These universal sediment filters are 2.5 x 10-inch in size and fit most standard under-sink Reverse Osmosis water filtration units or any type of water filtration units with standard 10-inch housing. They can also be used as pre-filters in Whole House Water Systems, Under Counter-top Water Filter Systems, and Counter-top Water Filter Systems to optimize the performance and lifespan of the carbon or GAC filters.

These cartridges have an extraordinary dirt-holding capacity and superior contaminant removal and flow rate compared to similar size sediment water filter cartridges. They can reduce sediment particles as small as 1 micron without adding taste, odor, or color to the water, making them ideal for residential, rural, commercial, industrial, and municipal applications.
