This Melt-blown Four Layers Filtration Polypropylene Sediment Filter (6 pack) removes physical debris and impurities from your water. The sediment filter has tiny holes that allow water to pass through, while trapping unwanted particles of varying sizes. Filters are measured in microns - the smaller the micron rating, the smaller the holes, capturing finer particles.

For visibly polluted water with larger particles, a larger sediment filter (20 or 50 microns) is recommended as the first stage to prevent clogging of subsequent filters. This sediment filter is often the initial filter installed in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch unwanted particles like sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine matter.

Made of fine melted polypropylene, this cylindrical sediment filter is resistant to chemicals, bases and acids. Removing these particles allows downstream filters like Carbon Block or GAC to perform better and last longer. Contaminants originate from water sources, old/dirty pipes, and treatment chemicals.
