Product Description Melt-blown Four Layers Filtration Polypropylene Sediment Filter (50 pack)

A Sediment Water Filter removes physical debris and impurities from water. The filter has tiny holes through which water can pass, but unwanted particles are trapped. Filter sizes are measured in microns, with smaller micron ratings capturing smaller particles. For visibly polluted water with larger particles, a larger sediment filter (e.g., 20 or 50 microns) is recommended as the first stage to prevent clogging of downstream filters.

This sediment filter is often the initial filter in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch unwanted particles like sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine matter. Made of fine melted polypropylene, the filter is resistant to chemical solvents, bases, and acids. Removing these particles allows downstream filters, such as Carbon Block or GAC, to perform better for longer periods.

These particles and pollutants originate from water sources, old/dirty pipes, and water treatment contaminants.
