The Melt-blown Four Layers Filtration Polypropylene Sediment Filter (4 pack) removes physical debris and impurities from your water. The sediment filter has tiny holes that allow water to pass through while trapping unwanted particles. As these particles come in different sizes, the filter size is measured in microns - the smaller the micron measurement, the smaller the holes, allowing the filter to capture the smallest particles.

Generally, for visibly polluted water with larger particles, a larger sediment filter (such as 20 or 50 microns) is recommended as the first stage to prevent clogging of subsequent filters. This sediment filter is often the first installed in a Reverse Osmosis system, acting as a net to catch sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine particles.

Made of fine melted polypropylene that is blown and spun into a cylinder, this sediment filter is resistant to chemical solvents, bases, and acids. Removing these particles allows downstream filters, such as Carbon Block or GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filters, to perform better and last longer.
