The 20"x 4.5" Blue High Capacity Housing for Whole House Water Filtration System with 1" Inlet / Outlet Ports (RA-124-20) is suitable for reducing sediment, dirt, rust, and suspended particles in the incoming water to your house. The blue housing body is made of reinforced polypropylene for strength and resistance to chemicals, while the black cap is made of high-flow polypropylene for toughness. The black cap has 1" inlet / outlet brass ports, allowing better sealed connections to the corresponding pipes. There is a rubber O-ring on the top of the housing body to ensure a watertight seal. A pressure relief button on the inlet side of the cap releases pressure in the housing for changing filter cartridges.

These Housings are used in various applications and are usually placed in the main water line entering the house, including residential drinking water filtration, food service, and irrigation. The included 20"x 4.5" Pleated Washable & Reusable Sediment Filter (4 pack) reduces sand, dirt, silt, rust, and scale particles in residential and commercial water. Pleated filters are made of resin-impregnated cellulose and polyester media, pleated around a polypropylene core for strength. These materials trap suspended particles, block and adsorb unwanted chemicals or substances that cause a chemical change to the water, such as acid neutralization. The pleated design provides an amplified surface area that may extend the filter's life while removing undesirable particles and chemicals from the water by means of a semipermeable barrier, adsorption, and biological processes. Pleated filters are washable and reusable.

The Big 20" x 4.5" Ronaqua pleated sediment water filters have a flow rate of five gallons per minute (GPM) and fit all 20x4.5-inch water filter housings. They are more effective than standard wound, spun, and melt blown filters due to their re-usability.

The main difference between a regular Sediment Filter and a Big Sediment Filter is the size. A Big Sediment Filter is usually used for filtering the water on the entrance into the house, called a whole house filter. It is able to filter a larger volume of water than a regular filter with its larger surface area, size, and radius.

The Pleated Sediment Filter is similar to the properties of a regular sediment filter, but it has a longer lifespan due to the increased surface area and material composition. Users can wipe down and clean this filter to continue using it.

These Sediment Water Filters can intercept various impurities, including rust and corrosion, coarse sand, hard scale, fine sand, and suspended particles.
