The Melt-blown Four Layers Filtration Polypropylene Grooved Sediment Filter (6 pack) is a product designed to remove physical debris and impurities from water. This sediment filter has tiny holes that allow water to pass through, while preventing unwanted particles from doing so. The filter sizes are measured in microns, with smaller micron measurements indicating smaller holes in the filter, allowing it to capture smaller particles.

For water that is more visibly polluted, containing larger particles, a sediment filter of a larger size, such as 20 or 50 microns, is recommended as the first stage of installation. This helps prevent the clogging of the next stage(s) of filters. The sediment filter is often the first filter installed in a Reverse Osmosis circuit, acting as a net to catch unwanted particles, including sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine particles.

The Grooved Sediment Filter differs from a regular Sediment Filter in its surface area. The Grooved Sediment Filter has a larger surface area, which contributes to a longer life span of the filter and better filtration.
