This 20" x 2.5" Sediment Filter is often the first filter installed in the Whole House Water Filter circuit, acting as the initial point of contact between the water supply and the home. It serves as a pre-filtration unit, capturing unwanted particles such as sand, dirt, silt, rust, and other fine contaminants before the water proceeds to the reverse osmosis and activated carbon filters.

These filters are composed of fine-melted polypropylene that has been blown and spun into a cylinder-like form. The removal of these particles allows subsequent filters, such as Carbon Block or GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filters, as well as household water appliances like boilers, ice-makers, and more, to perform better and last longer.
